LOAD BREAK SWITCH (LBS)
Load Break Switch is common equipment in an electrical substation to turn power off and on to the transformer. It is used to isolate the substation from the distribution incoming line. Generally, a 12kV load break switch is placed before a 12kV/415V transformer so that during shutdown it can be turned off without interrupting the main distribution line to other users. It is a mechanical switch protection system that is more cost-effective than a vacuum circuit breaker.
